# Release EIP
When you no longer need to use the EIP, you can release it in the console, and no further charges for the EIP will be incurred.
1. On the Public Internet EIP list page, select the EIP you want to release and click **Release EIP** in the operation field.

2. In the popped-up **Release EIP** prompt box, click **Confirm** to complete the release of the EIP.
