What is UGN?

UGN (DezaiCloud Global Network) is a new generation of global network product launched by DezaiCloud based on Segment Routing technology, which can help users quickly and flexibly build a global enterprise-level network and realize global interconnection and interoperability of cloud resources.

Typical use scenarios of the UGN are as follows:

  1. High-speed and stable intranet interconnection between VPCs:
  • Deployment of multi-regional businesses in the online education/live streaming industry, requiring real-time synchronization of audio and video systems
  • The game acceleration industry requires multi-regional intranet interconnection to realize high-speed and stable communication
  • Businesses deployed in multiple locations, requiring multi-regional disaster recovery support
  1. Intranet interconnection between VPC and cloud private sites :
  • Network interconnection among multiple stores
  • Multiple private sites/offices are interconnected with cloud VPC resources
  • Cross-border/regional office and business data synchronization

Components of UGN

The UGN is a project-level product. Multiple UGN instances can be created under one project, and UGN instances under different projects are independent of each other. UGN instances have no regional attributes and are a global-level product.

Components of the UGN include:

  • UGN Instances: UGN instances are the basis for creating and managing integrated smart cloud networks. A single UGN instance can contain one or more associated network instance types.

  • Network Instances: When multiple types of network instances are added to the UGN, it enables the interconnection of users’ cloud-based resources, the interconnection of resources across regions, and the interconnection between cloud-based and on-premises resources, such as the interconnection between multiple branch sites and VPC networks, as well as between hosted/IDC networks. It supports binding network instances across projects under the same account to the same UGN instance.

    • Private Network Instance UVPC: The private network product customized by public cloud customers can, when associated with the UGN, achieve interconnection across VPCs and interconnection of networks across regions.
    • UWAN Virtual Router: The SD-WAN access service deployed at the core nodes of the DezaiCloud backbone network. It connects northward to the global backbone network and southward to the self-used devices at users’ private sites or the leased DezaiCloud CPE intelligent gateways through the Internet and dedicated lines. It provides enterprises’ stores and branches with intelligent networking functions such as nearby access, encrypted transmission, and one-click interconnection.
    • Hosted Virtual Router: Deployed at various DezaiCloud hosting business nodes, docking customer hosting business. It can be associated to the UGN for easily migrating hosted business to the cloud.
    • Hosted Virtual Router: Dedicated Line Virtual Router: It is an edge router that enables customers to access the UCloud internal network via dedicated lines. It is deployed in the POP point computer rooms of various regions, allowing customers to securely and stably connect to the cloud through dedicated lines.
  • Bandwidth Package: After the user creates the UGN and adds network instances to the UGN, a bandwidth package needs to be activated to facilitate multi-regional instance communication.

    • City Bandwidth Package: City bandwidth package is unlimited and free. If the user’s network instance belongs to the same region, joining the UGN can realize the business communication of the same region.
    • Cross-region Bandwidth Package: The cross-region bandwidth package is a chargeable item of the UGN. Users need to activate the cross-region bandwidth package between point-to-point locations according to the regions to which their network instances belong in order to achieve data forwarding between the corresponding regions. Currently, the system will, by default, provide a free 5 kbps bandwidth package as a gift for testing connectivity.

Cloud Resource Inter-Access in the Same Domain

Multiple services in the same region need to realize logical interconnection and intercommunication. Business data transmission is directly related to customer business and it is necessary to ensure the confidentiality, security, and transmission reliability of data. At the same time, it needs to support efficient operation and maintenance work scenarios such as flexible configuration, switching, access control, etc. for the business.

Solutions

  • Deploy multiple VPC instances in a single region;

  • Deploy UGN instances, load all VPC instances in this region, and build access for VPCs in the same region.

Inter-access of Cross-domain Resources on the Cloud

Public cloud resources are distributed worldwide, and there is a need to achieve logical interconnection and mutual access between services. Business data transmission is directly related to customers’ businesses, and it is necessary to ensure the confidentiality, security, and transmission reliability of the data. At the same time, it is required to support efficient operation and maintenance work scenarios such as flexible configuration, switching, and access control of the business.

  • Deploy UGN instances, load all global VPC instances, and build cross-regional access;

  • The smart routing selection service enables users to choose the route with the lowest latency, avoiding business losses caused by circuitous network paths.
